Save the Liberty Seminars in Slovenia

by David E. Shellenberger on August 22, 2012

Svetilnik – društvo za promocijo svobode (Lighthouse Association), based in Slovenia, promotes the classical liberal ideas of individual rights, free markets, rule of law, and limited government. Its many programs include Liberty Seminars, held since 2008.

Tanja Štumberger, executive director of the seminars, observes that they can be life changing. One of the many people the seminars have influenced is Zoltán Kész of Hungary. Mr. Kész attended the first seminar in 2008, and went on to found the Hungarian Free Market Foundation. He credits Ms. Štumberger, as well as Dr. Tom G. Palmer of Atlas Economic Research Foundation and Dr. Lawrence Reed of the Foundation for Economic Education, for helping him believe he too could make a change.

This summer’s seminars, being held August 27th through September 1st, will include eighty participants from twenty-nine countries. The faculty includes Ms. Štumberger, Drs. Palmer and Reed, and other leading experts.

Liberty Seminars has just lost a major supporter, and is urgently raising funds to make up the deficit. Please join me in making an immediate donation. As explained on the website, funds can be sent through either 1) a bank transfer, or 2) use of a credit card on the Atlas website, designating the funds for “Slovenia: Liberty Seminars.” Liberty Seminars is recognizing all donors on its website.

You and I can help make a better and freer world by saving the Liberty Seminars.
